Not Home Alone

Retuning back to your home environment, work, and family can be a drastic change from the treatment setting and can often be overwhelming and scary. The Not Home Alone (NHA) program provides you with an AiR companion or clinician to help you transition home following your hospitalization or a stay in treatment. Your AiR companion will pick you up at the facility, travel home with you, and help guide you through re-entry in your home environment for 3 to 5 days. The NHA program is designed to help you realize the goals of transitioning safely home and successfully launching your recovery. Your AiR companion may:

  • Help you walk through your home and discard any alcohol or drugs that were left in the house before you left for treatment.
  • Attend your first AA meeting and help you find a temporary sponsor.
  • Visit with you and your family about the healthy boundaries and expectations.
  • Go to work with you for the first day to educate your co-workers on your disease and help set up boundaries and expectation.
  • Assist you in scheduling our your week of meetings and getting connected with someone at each meeting.
