Minneapolis Intervention

Help! I have a loved one in need of Minneapolis intervention services because of their addiction to alcohol and drugs.

Although a small percentage of people are able to recover from drug or alcohol addiction without intervention, the majority of individuals addicted to alcohol need assistance. Many individuals are able to stop their addiction to alcohol and rebuild their lives after a Minneapolis Minnesota intervention or St. Paul intervention.

Many individuals have approached their loved one regarding his/her alcohol addiction, with no success. It may be helpful when talking with your loved one, to have a third party present that is professionally trained and knowledgeable about alcoholism and alcohol abuse. This Minneapolis intervention technique can save lives in St. Paul & Minneapolis.

Intervention is the best way to make help available to those struggling with an addiction. 92% of those intervened on go to treatment and have the opportunity to change their lives.

Is now the time?
If your current situation has you concerned enough that you are exploring this option ““ it’s time. If you are concerned about someone you love, nothing can be gained by waiting. Crisis comes and crisis goes, but with the disease of addiction, we don’t get to choose the consequences our loved ones will face the next time.

If now is not the time, ask yourself: How much worse will it have to get before you are willing to act?

Will doing an intervention make matters worse? No. Doing nothing will make matters worse.

Intervention services are the most immediate and effective way to help struggling individuals access recovery. Assistance in Recovery’s clinicians recognize that behavioral health crisis can be frightening, confusing and debilitating and that sometimes people just need to be rescued.

If someone you know is struggling with the disease of addiction, it is time to take action. We believe that once we are aware that a problem exists, it is no longer an option to do nothing.

What happens at an intervention:
Assistance in Recovery (AiR) specializes in helping families and organizations deal with individuals with alcohol and addiction concerns, mental health issues and eating disorders to get out of crisis and into solution.

1. Get out of crisis.
AiR will meet with families or organizations to assist in making a healthy decision about what is and what is not acceptable behavior or circumstances within their family or business.  AiR takes the time to educate the family about the disease and provide a variety of individualized care options and resources, as appropriate to their specific situation. Together, AiR and the family or organization will create a plan that will both offer options for the individual as well as set up healthy boundaries for the family and business so they can stop being affected by the disease and disruptive behaviors.

2. Into Solution.
Once AiR and the family or organization members have created their boundaries and agreed on the options they will give the individual, together you will immediately address the individual. Typically, someone will call and set up a time and place to meet the individual without telling them what it is about – usually someone who sees the individual regularly will make the plans with them so they are not wondering “what’s this about.” This process usually begins by addressing the addict by each member of the intervention explaining their concerns and how the behaviors are affecting them personally. Once the group has shared, the interventionist will lay out the agreed upon set of options for the individual and facilitate an entrance into an appropriate treatment center.

Raising the Bottom
Treatment for the suffering person is sometimes dangerously delayed because of the mistaken belief that an individual must hit bottom or the idea that treatment will only work if the addict wants it. AiR interventions can effectively raise the bottom and offer them help with their addiction or behavior before it’s too late.

Sense of Urgency
AiR responds quickly to calls for help. Family crises are treated as emergencies because the emotional pain and suffering of people close to the suffering individual can be extreme. The faster an intervention program begins, the faster family members will experience relief.
Skilled AiR consultants, interventionists and counselors, act with a high sense of urgency to identify the family members affected. We then introduce resources that help families take control and make rational decisions regarding the family member’s treatment options in the face of overwhelming crisis brought on by the disease.

Is now the time?
If your current situation has you concerned enough that you are exploring this option ““ we can assure you… it’s time. If you are concerned about someone you love or work with, nothing can be gained by waiting. Crisis comes and crisis goes, but with the disease of addiction, we don’t get to choose the consequences our loved ones will face the next time and it is dangerous to wait.

If now is not the time, ask yourself:
How much worse will it have to get before I are willing to act?
Will doing an intervention make matters worse?
Our experience shows that doing “something,” is far better and safer than doing nothing.
