Ryan received a BS in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Wisconsin. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked with adolescents with emotional and behavioral disturbances in a locked residential setting as a part of the crisis intervention team. He then worked coordinating halfway house programs for young men coming out of correctional settings and attempting to reintegrate into society and develop skills for ongoing recovery.
Ryan returned to school and attended Hazelden Graduate School and earned an MA in counseling, and works as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor.
He worked with a variety of populations, including adult men and adult women, with adolescent males and females in a residential and extended care treatment setting, and in residential and outpatient treatment settings for the LGBTQ population.
Ryan spent the last few years in program development, including developing an Intensive Outpatient Programming for adult men and women, specialized programming for sexual health issues for men and women, nicotine cessation programs for residential and outpatient programs, and most recently an LGBTQ specific adolescent outpatient program.
Ryan recently relocated to South Florida. He is excited to play tennis 12 months a year, and start playing softball on a regular basis!
