About the Program

This program touches on a very serious problem in health care: substance abuse among nurses and other health care professionals. The impaired professional can have a significant negative impact on the quality and safety of patient care, their colleagues, the organization as a whole as well as on themselves and their families. What is the extent of this problem today and what is the role of the nurse manager in detecting and managing this problem? We’ll dialog with an expert in the field to learn more about impaired professionals in our workplace as well as the treatment and rehabilitation options. Participate in this program and be better prepared to deal with this difficult reality.

Accreditation

GUIDELINES FOR RECEIVING CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

VHA is committed to complying with the criteria of accreditation and continuing education agencies in order to provide this quality program. To receive credit for educational activities, you must successfully complete all program requirements.

For the enduring material activity: Complete an evaluation form and post-test online at within one year following the program (please refer to handout for link to accreditation website)

NURSING

VHA Inc. is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This program is designated for 1.00 Hours.

VHA Inc. is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP12580 for 1.20 contact hours.

CEU

VHA Inc. will award CEUs to each participant who successfully completes this program. The CEU is a nationally recognized unit of measure for continuing education and training programs that meet certain criteria (1 contact hour = .1 CEU.)
